From the Conference Floor with Evan - SEPRA Edition

SEPRA 2025

Key Insights and take aways from SEPRA.

  •  Trust is a high priority for Health System recruiters when collaborating with locum agencies.

    • Locum Agencies need to prioritize trust with their clients. With all the uncertainty in the industry, Locums Agencies need to be a beacon of trust instead of feeding into the bad connotations of the “necessary evil” in the industry. Locums are essential to the industry and hospital recruiters understand that it is not going to change for the foreseeable future.

    • Vet your vendors and make sure that they have your best interests in mind.

  • Regional Health Systems in the Southeast continue to value key locum tenens partners over technology solutions.

    • Smaller Regional Health Systems prefer direct relationships over tech solutions.

    • Agencies, like Alumni Healthcare, that conduct continual site visits to every client (at least once annually) are preferred, due to their interest/dedication to the local communities and understanding of the area and operating procedures.

    • Some larger agencies are still getting preferential treatment, but that is starting to change. The whole “too big to fail” scenario is proving to be inaccurate as recent quality control issues from large vendors is becoming more common.

  • Hospital Recruitment Job Security is still a hot issue.

    • The recent trend of Physician Recruitment being “tucked” under HR and Talent Acquisition continues to cause turmoil.

    • Turnover and Burnout are still consistent among recruiting professionals.

    • Dissolving of Health Care recruitment leader positions is continuing to persist and new roles are elusive.
